Production Supervisor - Food (Chicago, IL)

Position Overview:  The Production Supervisor for Food is responsible for the planning, coordination and control of our food production processes to ensure product quality meets Garrett brand standards.  The primary role of this position is to lead and manage the staffing, scheduling, quality, and throughput of all recipes at the OSK.  Product quality must be consistent from batch to batch every day.  Production must also operate on time to meet the demands of the business.



  • Supervise all food production processes
  • Adjusts staffing levels to align with customer demand
  • Assigns hourly employees to positions and duties as needed
  • Properly trains hourly personnel in all positions
  • Cross trains hourly personnel as needed
  • Develops hourly personnel into Lead roles
  • Documents and communicates when disciplinary action is necessary
  • Provides verbal and written warnings to hourly staff when required
  • Communicates effectively with Manager when issues arise related to processes, people or equipment
  • Runs batch report each morning before start of shift
  • Communicates batch report requirements to the Mixing Room and Kettle Room
  • Ensures batches are produced in a timely manner
  • Optimizes production schedule to meet customer demands
  • Meets organizational production goals measured by metrics
  • Selects appropriate equipment necessary for production
  • Communicates equipment related issues to maintenance and Management
  • Actively participates and supports quality-control and safety programs
  • Ensures high quality standards are met for all production
  • Ensures all recipes are being followed
  • Ensures all processes are being followed
  • Ensures compliance with GMP standards
  • Ensures work environment is clean, organized and safe
  • Ensures health and safety guidelines are followed
  • Trouble shoots and problem solves when issues arise
  • Continuous improvement mindset on current processes
  • Develops, maintains, and promotes a motivated TEAM atmosphere
  • Assists in the implementation of all new process and procedures
  • Manage time and attendance
  • Other duties as assigned by Management


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production supervision or related role
  • Experience working in a food environment is a plus
  • Prior experience with GMPs and food safety is a plus

  • Associate or Bachelor degree related to Operations is a plus
  • Undergo hands-on training to learn how all batches are made
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
